Adoption

Adopt a rescued cat today!
A Paw in the Door finds home for unwanted cats and kittens, strays, and cats whose owners are no longer able to take care of them. Our rescued cats have received all necessary medical attention. All adult cats have been neutered, and financial aid is available for neutering kittens in cases of need.
Paw works with Pet Quarters in Cook’s Corner, Wags & Whiskers in Bath, and Ames Supply in Wiscasset to place homeless cats in good homes. Cats in our adoption carts are available to visit any time the stores are open.
The wonderful staff at our adoption locations are always ready to tell you about the cats and kittens available for adoption from A Paw in the Door.
We also have cats in foster homes who are waiting to find their permanent homes—see Foster.
A wide variety of cats and kittens is turned over to Paw for help in finding a new home—we may have a cat that’s just right for you! Most of the older cats are well socialized and ready to fit right into a family.
The wonderful staff at Pet Quarters are always ready to tell you about the cats and kittens available for adoption from A Paw in the Door. They are experienced in matching the right cat to the right home, so feel free to visit any time. It can get a little boring hanging out in a cart all day, so all visits are welcome, even if you’re not looking to adopt!
